WESB on Linux Profile creation error
I installed WESB 7 on RHEL 5.5. installs without error.
I run the Profile creation tool, and I get the following error:
I did some google searches, but found some hits but no clear solutions.

I guess you're trying to install over UBUNTU right?
The said procedure runs a shell script to perform the registration but it fails. The problem with UBUNTU is it links the default shell to /bin/dash not /bin/bash so please execute these commands and restart configuration:
sudo unlink /bin/sh
sudo ln -s /bin/bash /bin/sh
or use dpkg:
sudo dpkg-reconfigure dash

It deals with z/OS only but if you "translate" it to Unix terms it seems to point in the direction of /etc/resolv/conf or maybe /etc/hosts, /etc/nsswitch.conf not being set up properly.

Ok would you please tell us what distro you're running if it is not classified :)) and can you please post the output of your:
ls -al /bin/sh
and
uname -a
and
/etc/hosts.conf
and make sure that your system IP is not pointing to your localhost as it is common with some distros.
