DSL (AT&T BellSouth) - reboots/resets IP address 4-8 times each day
we're renting and using the existing DSL here. The frequency of IP address re assignments is driving me crazy (my office server admin code checks/permits where i've signed-in are the permitted HTTP REMOTE_ADDR IP addresses allowed)
Attached is the DSL modem log. Can you advise me if there's a pattern and what i should complain about to AT&T support. I'm unfamiliar with DSL logistics (we have business cable-based internet in our offices)
(Note it's not worth getting a fixed IP addr, we're only here for 2 more weeks)

One thing, your upstream transmit power (US Tx Power) should not be a negative number. It should be in the 10.0 - 15.0 range, close to the same as the DS Tx Power.
Your modem may be bad. The NID test will tell you for sure; if those numbers change and the upstream power is where it should be, then you have a short somewhere in the building's phone wiring. If you still have a negative number even when plugged into the NID then the short is in the modem itself.

Sorry; depending on your service US Tx Power might be a low negative number (if you have aDSL2/2+) and BellSouth (BS; appropriate) has set you up for low power mode.
