IIS 5 Export Sites

Are there any other methods / tools for exporting IIS5 sites other than iisexport.com software? I need to copy my sites over to IIS7 on windows 2008 server.

Hi,

AFAIK there is no tool that does this. IIS5 to IIS7 is a signficant jump. Even so, IIS5 to IIS6 was a major change.
As IIS Export only does IIS4/5/6 to IIS 4/5/6. IIS7 is not supported.

Now for migrations, You could use IIS migration Tool to go from IIS5 to IIS6 Or IIS Export to do the same but you don't have an IIS6 Server on hand and I would be hardpressed to say it would work as expected through a
IIS5 --> IIS6 --> IIS7 migration.

As well,  IIS 5 to IIS7 may need quite a bit of tweaking to the code to support the new architecture. You need to consider your codebase (.NET 1,2,3,4, PHP etc...), DCOM Permissions to new use of Application Pools etc....

If it were me, I would just create the sites from scratch, install the required apps, copy the content and then recreate the applicaiton and virtual directories required. Also, make sure that your apps are actually capable of working on IIS 7 env.
