win7 x64 Lenovo laptops dropping LAN connection

I've had random Lenovo win 7 x64 laptops drop their LAN connection on our corp network (DHCP) the IP is lost and an ipconfi / renew does not fix the issues - only a reboot picks up a new IP and that last for about 20 min before it drops off again. First I thought symantec SEP 11.06 was the culprit; however, we have uninstalled it and still same behavior.

The only commonality is Lenovo laptops, win7 x64... all other machines are fine... any idea?

The problem could be Lenovo ThinkAdvantage Connection Manager - did you try to update this app with Lenovo System Update? Or you can try to deinstall it and test to see if this will solve the problem.

Hi,

Yes, but it was always with some other software also. Usualy update helps, so please try Lenovo System Update first (you can just update Connection Manager).

Best regards,
Vladimir

Its not the Connection Manager. I also, have an HP desktop Win x64 system doing it now too. So win7 x64 systems is the only thing these systems have in common.

symtoms:
Loss of IP, network stack hoses. cant restart services - have to reboot. Then happens again and again..
