1)generally do car makers willing to paint a new car according to our color choice for extra price
2)if not, is it good idea to take to car paint shop and paint the desired color - is this is a good/wise move?

thanks

1/ You can choose from the car models standard color range only (this is because the car body is painted during assembly...before windows, lights, etc. are installed)

2/ You can not better a cars original paint job for two reasons:
a/ because the car body is painted during assembly...before windows, lights, etc. are installed.
b/ beause the car body is painted during assembly by purpose designed multiple robotic spay arms in a special air quality controlled environment.

Some up market cars do offer more color options:

Mulsanne, Bentley's four-door flagship, will be offered in no fewer than 115 colors -- unless the customer wants something different.
