Thanks for this. Sorry for a delay in replying to your post. What I'm after is some guidance on best practice on setting up a test environment. I'm not sure if your response addresses that?<br />

For example, I have a sql 2008 instance on a production server, along with some custom executable files and folders with different permission levels etc. I need to make sure that everything on the production system is mirrored in a test environment so that any new developments can be tested on the test environment reliably before being deployed to production. . I am after some best practice guidance or steps on how to set up a test environment. <br />
