certificate works on some pc's and others not

We have a certificate for our own software which uses WPF. The certificate has recently been renewed, on some machines the users can access the webpage, on some machines they could access it for the first day, then from the second day they received trust not granted. Our developers re-issued a certificate, re-enterd a the private key in the software and gave us the public key. Problem still exists.

Any advise welcome.

Regards,
Dav

What version of SBS? If it's 2008 or 2011 you need to use the “Add a Trusted Certificate Wizard” to install the cert and remove the old cert.

On the machines you may have to manually remove the certificate using the Certificates management console but that shouldn't be necessary after using the wizard in SBS.

Hi,

We are using windows 2008 webserver. The private key is hard coded into the software and on the client machine we instal the .cer file to trustated publishers and trusted root.

We manually have deleted the old certificate and installed the new one.

The problem was readdressed by development, the developer had used the wrong private key, whilst initially saying nope it was not their problem
