SSRS 2005 Date Picker Parm Problem

Using Date Picker in 2 of my report parms (From Date  To Date).
It works fine in the USA as mm/dd/yyyy. User picks From and To dates, report runs and records appear. Great...

But now, when they do the same thing,  but from a Canadian location (which has date form as dd/mm/yyyy,  the Date Picker fails when they chose a date range of 22/12/2010 to 25/12/2011. You get back a error saying the value in box is in valid. It is looking at the date as mm/dd/yyyy when they execute report, and there is no month 22 or 25.

Do not understand why the Date Picker is confused. It presents the date as dd/mm/yyyy but then edits it against the format of mm/dd/yyyy and gets confused and errors out. FRUSTRATING..

Any easy way around or do I have to just make the 2 date fields as strings and tell user to key in date as mmddyy and not use the date picker option ?

Or,

You can change the default date format in the system settings.

Not sure what you mean.

How do you do that ?

I want report to run properly whether it is run from USA or Canada.

I have no control over Report Server...

oh ok.

In that case, better you place the two text boxes and ask the user to input dates in the specific format.

One way would be to change your query so that you know if you are in the usa or canada.
Then adjust your date picker for that country.

Looks like you have no control over the SSRS 2005 date picker other than using it in one of your report parms.

Anyways, I converted this report to SSRS 2008 as a test and it eliminated this problem. Now if I run this report from US (mm/dd/yyyy) or Canada (dd/mm/yyyy)  the report date picker parm works without any incidents.

I will close out this question without awarding any points and make a decision to convert to SSRS 2008 or go with my other suggestion about having my own date textboxes.

There was no resolution to this problem, that is why I did not award points.
