how to enable multiple gpus in Windows 7

I have a Nvidia 9800 in one slot, controlling two HP monitors.  Yesterday, I bought a Saphite HD 4550 with HDMI in order to connect a television and stream Netfix movies.

Drivers are installed for both devices.  The problem is:  when I connect the HDMI cord to the HD4550, both HP monitors change, so that I can't see the icons or the status bar/start menu.  I'm unable to access Settings.

What am I doing wrong?

The way HDMI runs off your card won't allow for other displays to be used at the same time. If you're not using the sound capabilities of the HDMI just use DVI and all will work fine. They are both digital signals anyway.
