local ip address

How do I find out the local ip address of my Macbook Pro OS X machine?
I mean like 192.168.0.1, not the dynamic ip address assigned when connected to the internet.

That should show up under TCP/IP in Network preferences.

from the terminal run  ifconfig -a
It will spit out all the info on your network cards.
