Flash video won't play if html page is in root

Hello Experts,

I'm trying to play a flash video from the root directory and it won't work but it will work from the sub directory. As far as I know the paths are correct but there is something else? Driving me crazy!!! View page source to see code - thanks

This works:
http://www.newlifecs.org/NLCS320/index320.html

Not works:

Hi Nigel-SA,

When I look at the non-working page in Firebug I get a 404 error for:

http://www.newlifecs.org/AuthoredContent.xml

I assume that file is in the /NLCS320/ subdirectory?  Your movie player must have been hardcoded to work with that file, so it needs to be at the same level as the calling page.

Hi jason1178,

Yes, I should have clarified - the working files are under NLCS320.  I have multiple videos I have to play at some point so I need to separate them.

That's fine, but the XML file is what is preventing it from playing.

So I copied the AuthoredContent.xml file to the root and it worked - thanks.  Looks like this file can point to multiple locations/video sources - just have to stay on top of it!!

Yep.  Alternately, you can always switch to a different player that's coded a bit better.  Something like the JW Media Player...
