Exchange  server 2007 and SendMail Linux Server !

Hi,

How can we handle the unresolved recipients into exchange server 2007.

Actually my org is now using sendmail server (linux plateform).Now an user existing on exchange server abc@contoso.com trying sending mail to account exisitng on sendmail linux server xyz@contoso.com then user abc@contoso.com getting NDR otherwise everything is smooth !

Please assist ...?

I presume you have configured your linux mail server to not be the authoritative mail server for the contoso.com domain.  It would then hand mails that is cannot resolve to a mailbox name, on to the Exchange server for final delivery.

You could now also configure your Exchange server to also not be auhoritative for the contoso.com domain and have all unresolved mail to the linux server.

This should work but you'd have to be mindfull of potential mail loops.  This is also not a situation which should be in place for long as it can cause management nightmares...
