One of our customers has a strange problem. He got a laptop that is member of a company domain. In the weekends he is brings his laptop home so he is able to work. On Mondays when he is back at the office he connects his laptop to the network and logon to his computer.
The strange thing is that very often all shortcuts to network share’s are deleted from his desktop during the weekend. He can confirm that the shortcuts were there on Friday, but are gone on Monday. They are not using roaming profiles and the share that he is creating shortcuts from is not set to be available offline. The only synchronizing he got is his “home folder”.
There is no profile error message in windows log. Please help!

Please check this knowledge base article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/978980

In Windows 7, the System Maintenance module will delete shortcuts automatically if they are considered "unused". The article will show a way to disable that module.
