Cannot Copy Files from MacBook to an External NTFS Hard Drive

I had some files on a FAT32 formatted external HD. I had to format that external drive but wanted to save the files so I attached the external HD to my MacBook (running OS X 10.6.5) and copied the files over.

Now I'm trying to copy those files over to a different external HD (this one formatted in NTFS). Mac Finder will not let me copy the files over! In the Finder I can select the files & choose Copy but when I move to the target external HD, there is no Paste option.

I have MacFUSE 2.0.3 installed on this MacBook so I don't understand why it's not letting me do this!

I just copied this data over to a FAT32-formatted external drive & it was no problem. But I'm guessing ntfs-3g driver would have worked also. Although don't understand why MacFUSE didn't allow me to copy to an NTFS-formatted drive? Oh well.
