looking for sample code for fast load Ajax data grip for 2000 records using sql server 2000 and asp.net 2.0 or 3.5 which ever is faster.

What do you mean by data grip?  What structure do you want the data returned?
For optimum speed on the JavaScript side I would use a framework such as mootools or jquery.
