No, vmci is only used for comm between vm and host, or vms on same host.

You need a (preferably) dedicated gigabit or higher interface on both esx(i) hosts for ft logging.

Do you know if any applications use the VMCI

No, I don't know of any for sure, I think it is there for if you want to develop something yourself. All I ever see is the driver and the sdk
