Help constructing photo gallery for joomla without flash

I would like to add a gallery to my Joomla 1.5 site similar to the one shown on this website:

http://www.pennyanne.com.au/collection.php

I've been unable to locate an extension that does this out of the box, so I'm guessing some modifications could be made to one of the galleries out there to achieve the desired result.

Is this possible, and if so, how?

The example you referenced actually isn't using flash it uses a jquery extension called ScrollShow.

Here is a demo:

Here is the extension's project page.  The developer has moved on to another version now, but here is the one your example site uses:

If you are not familiar with jquery, it is a javascript framework.  You should be able to implement jquery and jquery extensions into your joomla site, but you will need to do some coding.

Let me know what follow-up questions you have.
