I need to order some barcode scanners and ive just seen the difference in price between Metrologic MK-9590 and Posiflex barcode scanners is quite high.
I have the Metrologic barcode scanners already in use in one location and there have been problems when trying to scan dump barcode labels.

I need to know the best barcode scanners - probably with fuzzy logic and if Posiflex are good enough

This is what I like in handheld barcode scanners: http://www.barcodesinc.com/symbol/ls2208.htm

I used to work in management in an MIS department at a major automotive supplier.  We used barcodes for all of our tracking and part picking in an industrial environment.  We used to use PSC scanners a lot but they were replaced with Symbol scanners.

Scanners are a funny thing though sometimes...I have had bouts with several different brands.

Shrugs...

Tribus, thanks for that.

Why did you replace the  PSC scanners? And are the Symbol scanners much better?

The PSC scanners we used were discontinued and replaced by the Motorola/Symbol ones.

For reference we used Rockwell Automation, Allen-Bradley, and Mitsubishi PLC ladder logic systems. that the scanners interfaced with.
