getURL() in a Flash projector fails in Firefox

Here is the thread you will probably send me to:

Unfortunately, this does not work for me. I still get the error:

Firefox can't find the file at /FLASHDISK/files/pdfs/ThePDF.pdf.

and the url it put in is:

file:///FLASHDISK/files/pdfs/ThePDF.pdf

What am I doing wrong here?

You also might suggest I use the fscommand to open the pdf. This has proved to not to work either.

Any suggestions?

I got really excited, then I realized this doesn't work on Macs : (

I really appreciate the link, and it is really good to know about, but I really need it to work cross platform or my client will make a stink...
