We have been running Ex2007 for a couple of years and last month installed SP2. The last couple of days we are seeing the memory usage go to very high point. The server has 16gb and the w3wp.exe process was using 15gb of it. we cycled the box and it is growing again.
There are three w3wp.exe processes but only one is growing rapidly.  Other 2 stay around 220mb and dont grow.
I know Exchange will use lots of memory but we seemed to never get this high in the past.
How can we determine what is causing this and is there a way to control it.
Exch2007 SP2/WIn2008.  4500 users,  might be a max of 10% on OWA.

Hi,

Please update the exchange server to latest rollup & SP

Ensure we have proper file-level exclusions if we are running File-Level AV on the Exchange sever

Check NIC on your nodes; disable the TCP Chimney if it belongs to Boardcom or HP vendors for testing. It has potential effects on exchange

If any other application is built on the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 in the exchange server, similar symptom will occur, please see HotFix 942027
