Clear Duplicate values (Not Delete) in Excel 07

I have a spreadsheet with two columns.  First column is a box # and the second column is a list of files.  So the box # is replicated down column A 10 X's if there are 10 unique records within the box(listed in column B).  I want to have excel search column A and find the first unique box # and then clear the cells beneath until it finds the next box # .  (Clear the data without moving the next # up in the column)

Do you want to actually clear the data, or hide it?

What I suggest is a simple formula in the next adjacent column: (starting in C2)
=if(A1=A2, "", B2)

Copy this down to the last row with data in A and you can then hide column B and column C should show what you want.

and in C1 put:
=B1
to wrap it up

The specific solution you gave was not what I needed, but it did lead me to the correct formula...  I had to use =IF(A2=A1,"",A1+1) .  Thanks Again.
