Today I started getting this error on my php page that is reciving data from a google spreadsheet and puts it on a google map:

Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'Zend_Gdata_App_HttpException' with message 'Unable to Connect to tcp://spreadsheets.google.com:80. Error #110: Connection timed out.

Does someone know the solution to this?

can you ping spreadsheets.google.com from the server that this php page runs on?

ping spreadsheets.google.com

can you telnet?

telnet spreadsheets.google.com 80

There's a connection error somewhere which is why you're getting the "Connection timed out" message.  Either the time it takes to receive a response is too long, or your server can't connect to google's server.  If you can confirm that your server can connect okay, then it might just be that the connection is taking too long.  Most of Zend's libraries have ways that you can control the timeout limit, bumping that may resolve this issue.  If there's a lot of data being retrieved, perhaps it's best to break it out into batches (if possible).

Also, a quick google search brings up some others having DNS issues with some of Google's services (this was in July of last year however):  http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/apps-apis/thread?tid=230742ad50357e22&hl=en
