Snapshot backups using Equallogic ASM/ME

I have Commvault as my data protection application and Equallogic iSCSI SAN. I was under the impression that I could set up ASM/ME on my Media Agent servers and use transportable snapshots taken on the server that is hosting the data volume. Thus letting the media agent backup the snapshot, decreasing backup windows and minimizing bandwidth usage on my production LAN during backups. I have ASM/ME installed on both hosts/servers but can not figure out how to get the snapshot transported to the Media Agent server.
All responses are appreciated.
If you need more info, let me know.
Thanks
David
