I'm trying to find all the email messages in a particular pst file which were sent by a particular user, and which have an attachment.  I've entered all of this info in the appropriate areas of the Advanced Find dialog, but I'm only getting results for 2 messages, when I know that there are over 75 such emails.

Could be either a problem with the PST (in which case run scanpst.exe) or a problem with the search index in which case you may have to rebuild the index.

rebuilding index in vista: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/rebuilding-the-search-index-in-windows-vista/ (same basic concept in other os's you can also access it from control panel)

Thanks,  I'll look into that and bet back to you.  Took me a while to find the option in the Control Panel (it was not visible in my Start menu as indicated by the article) because it appears my IT guys have locked that down.  I don't even have permissions rebuild the indexes, have to request IT support for that.

IT department has indexing turned off to speed things up.  Turned it on, which slowed things down a bit, but does facilitate searches.
