Local Web Dev Server Security

I'm using MAMP PRO for local development only.

However, what happens when my local website has scripts such as google analytics that try to reach the internet?

Will google then have access to my server; what address will they see it coming from?

Is this a potential security issue? Should I make sure to remove such scripts?

Goggle will not pose any security risk at all.

But what happens with other scripts on a local dev server... can they be safely? I.e. wordpress plugins, etc?

I think you are as safe on a local development server as you would be if you installed your scripts on a professionally hosted web server.  Other sites do not "put" stuff into your script.  Just follow the common-sense guideline of "Accept Only Known Good Values" and you will be fine.  If you are going to install plug-ins, etc., be sure that you read and understand the code and make sure it is not a trojan.  If you stick to popular, open-source plug-ins you will be pretty safe since so many others have already read the code.
