When browsing in IE 8 - Favorites - History we have temp files that appear in the history.  We have determined that Outlook 2010 is causing these files to appear.  How do we prevent this from ocurring?

Attachments remain in the Outlook Secure Temporary File folder when you exit Outlook 2010, Outlook 2007, or Outlook 2003

yes, Outlook needs those folders to keep the attachments
If you want to move that location from %temp% to other location follow the above KB

More specifically the temp files were only showing in the Favorites History that was being viewed for the current date (so under the Favorites icon, click on the History tab, and View Today).  The problem has been resolved.  It was found to be caused by an add-in, Microsoft Outlook Social Connector, in Microsoft Outlook 2010.  Once the add-in was disable the random temp files ceased to be created in the History tab "Today".

After researching the issues and determining it was Outlook causing the issue and running Outlook in Safemode we determined the issue had to be caused by an add-on.  We disabled all the add-ons/ins and experienced no issues.  Turning them on one by one it was found to be the Microsoft Outlook Social Connector causing the problem creating the temp files in the Today part of the History tab.
