Try changing your object style to low z-index like the wrapping div

<div style="z-index:1;">

<object style="z-index:1;" classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7,0,19,0" width="1000" height="379">
<param name="movie" value="images/gvn_header.swf"/>
<param name="quality" value="high"/>
<param name="wmode" value="transparent"/>
<embed src="images/gvn_header.swf" wmode="transparent" quality="high" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="1000" height="379"/>
</object>
