If you are referring to using the build-in md driver ... go for it, this is the approved, appropriate, and &quot;BEST&quot; way to do RAID1, unless you go with a premium (I emphasize premium, i.e, a high-end with ECC and battery backup RAID controller).

Servers are computing devices that are similar to desktop computers in that they have the same basic components, but are significantly different in size, configuration and purpose.
