replacing an IP phone on a Nortel BCM 400

Can I ask for a step-by-step on how to swap out an existing IP phone on a Nortel BCM 400 - replacing a broken set with a new one - new one is configured and has a new DN - simply want to change DN but IP phones aren't as simple as the digital sets for that.

So - for example - change DN 299 to DN 230 - when 230 shows as active on a different set (which is broken), and 299 is the new replacement phone.

If you have BCM Element Manager:

Goto: Telephony > Sets > Active Sets
Look for: the new Set: (299)
Click on the Number and change it to 230.

The Sets will automatically swap DNs

You should also deleted the Unwanted Set, so it frees up a License for future Sets. (unless it doesn't matter)

Goto: Resources > Telephone Resources > Click on IP & App Sets in the Long List > IP Terminal Details > Find the Set and Deregister
