Cannot read one instance of this recurring appointment. Close any open appointments and try again, or recreate the appointment.

We have a single user who randomly gets the message ""Cant read one instance of
recurring appointment. close any open appointments and try again, or
recreate the appointment"" several times a day.

When you click OK the same message appears several times. Outlook doesn't indicate which
recurring appointment is having the problem and the message just pops
up at various times even if the user isn't in the calendar.

The user is running Outlook 2003 on a Windows XP Professional SP3 workstation and mailbox is on an Exchange 2007 server.

When we ran Outlook with /cleanfreebusy switch Outlook ran fine for several days but problem just re-occurred. Restarting Outlook doesnt help since the error occurs randomly.

I would try to disable cached mode, delete .ost file or recreate outlook profile.

User is not running on cached mode, we are looking to upgrade the Outlook client to 2007 to see if the problem goes away then.
