HP Scanjet N9120 profiles disabled

Hello,

I have an HP Scanjet 9120 (out of warranty), that used to work with my computer.
MacBook w/ Windows 7.

But now, when I try to open the HP Document Scan software, I get " The HP Scan Document software could not find your scanner.  Please make sure your USB is securely...etc"

I don't have connectivity issues (checked the cable).
The Attention LED "!" keeps blinking when it's on.

When I click OK, I'm brought to the screen where you can decide which profile you want to use.  They are all disabled with no option of enabling them.

It's an amber blinking light and a solid green light.  So, I'm guessing that means to be taken into a repair shop or HP dealer?
This scanner's only been used once.

Sorry. yes, your scanner needs to be serviced.

Or, in device manager, check whether the sanner is still listed under imaging devices.
