Hi Experts,
The question is:
Why would a printer issue keep Excel from copying a new chart to a new chart sheet?
I am working on Excel on workstations at a college campus.
My problem was:
Excel will not copy chart to new chart sheet, the new chart sheet appears blank.
The solution was to restart the workstation.
Other information,
a) This can be replicated by having a printer driver not loaded or having a printer driver error.
b) Saving the excel workbook on the errant machine, and then loading the file on another workstation, shows the chart was saved,  but still cannot see on errant machine....till restarted ..with a functioning printer.

Thanks

I am not sure but the printer has nothing to do with it...

Where is the chart that you want to copy and how are you copying it to the chart sheet?

Problem is with absent/corrupt print driver,  my question was Why does that interfere with copying a Chart to a new location?
What the heck does a print driver have to do with rendering the Chart in a new Chart Sheet.

Hours of Googling shows:

1) Believe it or not, Excel uses your print driver to draw the screen

2) Start your local print spooler process and/or install a printer driver. Charts may not render with absent print driver.
Start>Run>services.msc
Print Spooler>Properties
Start automatically>reboot
OR, just start it once manually

3) You don't need an actual printer but you may need to install a print driver.

4) I had the same problem and on starting my print spooler it works!

you may want ot post this to provide others with the solution to why a chart does not copy.
"It was because of a corrupt print driver."
