TRYING TO: Create sharepoint list using 'Import Spreadsheet' option.
USING: Sharepoint 2010 and Excel 2010
Error:  method 'Post' of object 'IOWSPostData' failed
Troubleshooted using : http://makingspwork.blogspot.com/

MY PROBLEM: I renamed EXPTOOWS.XLA to oldEXPTOOWS.XLA and recreated new one with the lVer = 2 but when I try to import spreadsheet after restarting computer and browser Microsoft Office recreates EXPTOOWS.XLA with the original files time and date stamp wherein the changes I've made in the new version are not picked up.

Any help will be appreciated.

Hi,

Does it work if you do not restart your computer? Restart only the browser and Office.

I wonder if the change is taken into consideration at all.

I got it to work now...

As per the instructions on the above mentioned blogspot, change the file type to Excel Add-in (.xla). didnt work, it saved it as .xlam, however if saved as Excel 97-2003 add in then it saved as .xla
