HP Reseller Confusion - Need Advice and Assistance

Hello Everyone,

Two years ago, I applied to become an HP parter and reseller. To my excitement, my application was accepted.

Upon trying to navigate the HP Partner Portal site, I found that 1) the web design of that site is AWFUL so it's difficult to find exactly what I was looking for 2) half of the things that I click on return errors in my browser no matter how many different computers I try and use and 3) they sure don't try to point us in the right direction to try and figure out how to get started.

My questions are:

- How do I start selling HP computers/servers/printers/ect.?? Step-by-step would be appreciated.

- What is with this HP Legal Regulatory Compliance email I keep getting? When I applied and was accepted as a partner, I was never notified that I would have to do this and was told by their application that we wouldn't have to pay anything to complete my company's contract. Now I get emails asking me to pay $120 for something that my research on google tells me is useless. I'm a start-up company, so that amount is quite a lot for something that I will get nothing out of.

- What are the consequences of not completing the Legal Compliance thing? They claim termination, but when I got the threatening/bullying emails last year, and didn't complete it, I never lost my partner status.

What are your thoughts on this guys?

Thanks,

Kody

I also went throught the process, but didn't find the profit margins sugnificant as a small business, so I don't push HP.

1) and 2) You have to use Mozilla Firefox.

3) Just because you're a partner, that doesn't mean you can resell. You have to either go through the process to buy from the HP Internal Distribution (hp.com/go/hpsource) or purchase from an authorized U.S. Distributor (http://partnerportalpro.houston.hp.com/DownloadModule/GetContent?TrmTGolOvNzihn5Y1lAmxlRh8kp2FtkWIQTZjiAyc0tqdpoVwG%2FEyMhs8Mjip3XtoPAo2h5SJ0YnEpPqmot1zzqQK1kyYH7%2B1lZpHSIEaLs%3D). Many of these will have initial fees to get setup.

HP Legal Regulatory Compliance - there's a debate on several forums on the internet if this is necessary. Personally, I haven't given them any $ and I haven't been notified of termination yet..
