install intel matrix storage manager

RAID 1 (mirror) - Windows 7 - Asus P5B-Plus m/b. IMSM v6.0.0.1017.
One drive failed - Raid array degraded - replaced drive with new one - initially detected as a a non-RAID disk - then via Cntl-I added it to the Raid array - now all seems to OK, but how can I tell that the new drive is really working?
I think the  intel matrix storage manager (IMSM) would tell me that. I have it on the floppy with which I originally installed the o/s, and before the failure an icon would tell me if the disks were out of synch (it sometimes happened after a power failure for example).
Now there is no such icon.
I'm wondering - should I install the IMSM from the floppy?
Is it already there ? If so where might I find it and get it to report?
Is it safe to install it - might it have a bad effect on the RAID array which seems to be working OK, but I want to demonstrate that it is.
Any advice would be welcome, please?

Check Control Panel - Programs and Features

Is the Intel Matrix Storage Manager listed as an installed application?

If you find it there, I would remove it (uninstall)

Download the Intel Matrix Storage Manager installer from the ASUS website (search for the drivers for your model of motherboard)

Reinstall.

It will not affect your RAID array by removing or installing the Intel Matrix Storage Manager.
