Sync issue with Windows mobile 6

we have an issue following a change of our mobile push email system. We have recently changed the server. The user in question has therefore lost connection to exchange around a week ago.
The user has continued to add entries under her calendar on her phone. I now need to sync her phone with the new server without losing the 7 days worth of calendar entries that are on the phone.
I have been told that I cannot sync the phone without hard resetting it first as if I sync now with the new server the user will get duplicate entries in enchange/outlook, hence the need to hard reset it.
How do I recover/backup/sync these extra calendar entries?
