Can't access Pix515e PDM through IE8

Hi All,

I have a PIX515e which I used to access through the PDM from an old XP client. That client has now failed and I am trying to regain control over my PIX through the PDM from this new machine, however I can't get the PDM do load, it just hangs at the "Device Manager Information Window"
I have installed Java version 6 which I know is not the recomended (1.4.2 is recommended) however I can't locate this older version.

Can anyone offer any advice? I know I need to update the PDM version to a later version, but until I can get into the PDM this isn't going to be an option.

Help greatly appreciated..

Java 1.4.2 is in the Oracle archives.    Right here:

Ernie:
I might have to do an upgrade through the CLI but I was hopeing I would be able to make the changes I need to make now, and upgrade at my leisure.

Figures. Well first try the 1.4.2. Let's hope that works out for you.

Cheers Gents! I used to keep all that stuff in a little access database, but then I decided if I put it on-line so my colleagues and clients could use it - then it started to make me a few quid in advertising - now it covers my Vodka intake <lol>

There are some handy tools in there - I saw Mike recommending canyouseeme.org to a poster the other day, and thought "I've got to get me one of those"
that's where this came from http://www.petenetlive.com/KB/Article/0000393.php so I'm always looking at stuff to make it better - If ever you think of something, or see something  - then hit one of the contact links and let me know and I'll add it to the list of stiff to do :)
