Hello all,
I advertise the JRE 6.23 package in our company. Some computer received it successfully but other computers could not receive it because of "Program Errors". I don't know why.
Could you please give me some hints?
Thank you

Is there an MSI exit code?
What is the exact error message?
Are you calling the .exe for install or are you using msiexec with the msi?
If you're using the msi are you using the "/l*v c:\temp\jre6_23.log" switch at the end to make sure it creates a log file for you to assess?

I am using the .exe file.
I checked on Advertisement status, I saw 36 Program Errors

And when you open the report for the errors, what error messages does it show?

In the Status Message Detail, it is

"The program for advertisement "HQP200D3" ("HQP0008E" - "Java 6.23") exceeded the maximum allowed run time of 120 minute(s). Systems Management Server (SMS) has stopped monitoring the program, and is unable to determine the status of the program. SMS will not automatically attempt to run this program again.
Possible causes: The program might have taken longer to run than expected, or the program might have experienced problems while running.
Possible solution: Make sure the maximum allowed run time specified for the program allows enough time for the program to finish running. If the program requires user input, ensure the program properties allow the user to interact with the program."

OK to get a better understanding of the failure, what happens if you manually run the exe on one of the failed machines?

It may be that its requiring user input and timing out as no response is received.
Are these upgrades to existing JRE installations or brand new installs?

I install this silently and users don't have to do anything. These are upgraded to the existing JRE installation.

Even when running silently, if the machine has pending reboot actions, or requires the user to accept the fact that something needs to be shut down in order to run the install, this can at time prevent the install as even the silent switch cannot force some of these actions or hide them in my experience.
Add this to the end of your command line "jre.exe /s /L c:\windows\temp\jre6_23.log"  and then post the log file here.

What happens with the manual running?

I just have done that. They seems OK.
Do you know how to uninstall Reader X silently? I would like to install Adobe Reader 9.4 to some computers but I need to uninstall Reader X first.
Thanks
