If not, is there a plugin for Aptana so that it provides JSP debugging support?

If not, then what's the recommended software program similar to Aptana that provides JSP support?

The popular IDE are Netbeans and Eclipse.
Do you know any Java already ?

I do JavaScript but not Java but YouTube allows for JavaScript programming within JSP pages.  Which version of Eclipse do you recommend?  There are several Eclipse flavors or what is the right word - should I try the JavaScript Eclipse version.

Does the JavaScript Eclipse version have the Eclipse Classic foundation under it?

You could try
http://www.eclipse.org/home/categories/index.php?category=enterprise
but its kind of a heavyweight.
You could also try just putting a stand alone Tomcat on your desktop. That would be easier especially if you don't know anything about Eclipse.. You could just load your JSP file into Tomcat and browse to the page.  Tomcat will show errors on the page.
http://tomcat.apache.org/
It works out of the box. But if you need help, then I will provide it. Do you have the JDK already installed on your machine ? That is the first step.

I finally figured it out - I learned how to install subversion (SVN) through the Eclipse Marketplace within the Help drop down list (Eclipse program) and installed the correct WTP (Web Tools Platform) for the right Eclipse Helios version.

rrz@871311, thanks for your help, I'll award you 500 points anyways!   This was a very complicated question to answer though because of all the Eclipse Developer Builds / Packages.   Just mind boggling at first but becoming easier for me to figure out as time passes by.
