Need to update GAL from the attributes given in excel sheet

I need to update the records like: Mobile num,department,Address(Street,City,Postal Code) etc in GAL.

Will any one please help me to locate the best script to automate the whole process with sample of excel file with required attributes?

Is there any tool which can be used to update multiple entries at same like concerned mobile number and address etc..
Can I take the inputs from excels sheet ..if yes what should the format for attributes..?

I tried admodify-but it can work for same entries only also tried galmod to give access to user-but not satisfied!
I also have one script (Attached), can anyone please update this script to get the attributes from excel file to update user’s mobile num/address etc..? Please share the format of excel/csv with the required update in this script
Thanks in advance!!

Also help me to understand the distinguish names/attributes used for AD which can be used in script also?

Hi BKBIGB,

Have you considered using PowerShell for this? If you use that along with the Quest CmdLets we can make this pretty easy:

http://www.quest.com/powershell/activeroles-server.aspx

The only catch is that you'd need to save your file as a CSV, then give us some idea of the column names.

Sorry, I forgot to add, whether you go for PowerShell or not we need a sample of the input file. Then a script can be written and documented to meet your needs here.

BKBIGB,

Please read the article I posted, it has an XLS sheet attached which you can use to populate information, ...then you would use the resulting command lines to bulk update.
