Web Database

I have a website, which has SQL server express database it is about 20 tables with about 10,000 records. The database has very less transactions most of the loads are coming from select as too much user opening the website.
Now I have a lot of traffic on the CPU of the server what do you advise me to reduce some load on the database.

See if you have index for the columns you are using to filter on the select (i.e. the columns that appear on the where clause). This would improve a lot the performance.

I know this before I post the question, index is not fragmented as there is no transaction in the database.
