Exchange 2007 upgrade to sp3

I have an exchange environment with 3 servers.  1 is running Exchange 2003 and 2 are running exchange 2007 sp2.  One of those servers is a new server with no real accounts on it.

I'm planning on installing SP3 and had a question.  Can I go ahead and install sp3 on the server with no mailboxes without it impacting the others.  Essentially I want to upgrade the first server during normal business hours, and not during a planned outage.  Will the upgrade make any changes to the other server?

Last I checked installing SP3 doesn't really do anything other than apply some updates to it and that is all.

It worked without any problems.  It did say it would update the schema, but it didn't impact any of the live mailboxes.
