I used to have some contact lists in the public folders and when I click "To..." in Outlook 2003 they still show up there. If you click on them it says they might have been deleted, etc., but how can I remove them from the list so they don't show up anymore?

Are you talking about the Outlook address book when you select the "To" button in a new message and not auto complete.

The following URL shows you how to enable the public folder to be listed in the address book.  I assume you'll just need to uncheck the option to enable list in address book.
