How can I keep two sites with the same data replicated?

I have two manufacturing facilities with AutoCAD and AutoDesk. I need to make data available from both facilities. If something is created at one site it needs to replicate to the other. What is the easiest and best way to do this. I plan on putting a 3mb MPLS between the two facilities. Will DFS work for this? I really don't understand that technology.

Thanks,

A script and robocopy will do this for free.

Download in the Windows 2003 Resource Kit Tools

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=9d467a69-57ff-4ae7-96ee-b18c4790cffd&displaylang=en

RoboCopy and /MIR option.

or SyncToy

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?familyid=c26efa36-98e0-4ee9-a7c5-98d0592d8c52&displaylang=en

you need to choose how you want to backup the information. You can perform the following tasks between two folders:

Synchronize: New and updated files are copied both ways. Renames and deletes in one folder is repeated on the other.

Echo: New and updated files are copied left to right. Renames and deletes on the left are repeated on the right.

Subscribe: Updated files on the right are copied to the left is the file name already exists on the left.
Contribute: New and updated files are copied left to right. Renames on the left are repeated on the right. Similar to Echo, except there are no deletions.

Combine: New and updated files are copied both ways. Renamed and deleted files are ignored.

Yes, this is exactly what DFS was designed for

Does DFS put a copy of the data on both servers? So I would have to have the same storage space on each server to hold the data that is located on each of these?

What happens if someone edits the same file at the same time?

DFS Replication. DFS Replication is an efficient, multiple-master replication engine that you can use to keep folders synchronized between servers across limited bandwidth network connections.

You need to ensure that you have available free space, one server can have 1TB, and the other can have 5TB

Does DFS Replication replicate files that are being used by another application?
If an application opens a file and creates a file lock on it (preventing it from being used by other applications while it is open), DFS Replication will not replicate the file until it is closed. If the application opens the file with read-share access, the file can still be replicated.
