Abobe Fireworks CS4 - create image mask

Hi,
I am having trouble tying to create an image such as sample attached, but the edges on the round corners don't look right. I am not sure if I should create a mask, or join or punch to acheive a better look.
I will be using this image on my website to cover other pitures that will be changing from time to time to produce a result like final, so I need the center to be transparent. I hope this makes sense.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I don't use fireworks, but i'll tell you how to in photoshop:

Use the rectangle tool, select you radius angle and draw the shape. Create a new blank layer, and then select these 2 and right click merge them.

Then using the selection tool cut the right part corners and you will have the same image as above.
