Purchase older version of SQL Server

Hi Friends,

As the licence price of SQL server 2008 R2 versions is about 20% more than SQL Server 2008 version, can we still purchase an edition of 2008 version?
Does Microsoft keep continue selling the older version or just stop when it release a new version?

Microsoft usually sells and suports the last 2 versions of any of its products.

So, it will and support any release of 2008.
