website java error

Hi Experts,

Video Lightbox works fine when I remove the wibiya toolbar from the page (www.wibiya.com to see an example of the toolbar).  On my client site I have video lightox embeded.  The script etc is attached.

When launch video lightbox from the page it begins to play.. fine.  Within 2-3 seconds the error icon appears at the bottom corner of IE (Webpage error details below).  Some time the video will appear to restart within the popup window too.  The video begins to play, looks good sounds good.  When I close the video window.. the audio track from the video keeps playing.  If I launch the video player again it opens fine but the actual video is pushed down the page below the pop up video container.  Like I say it happens in Safari, Chrome, and IE on multiple computers.

When I remove the wibiya toolbar code everythings works fine.

Can someone help me with this?

thanks!

HNM

create a test page with toolbar in it, so we can see what is happening...

By the way, I solved the flash video overlay issue on the toolbar with swfObject in the product site so ignore it.

thanks,

just in case that last comment confused things, I'll rephrase it.  While you are testing you may notice that the video will sometimes overlap the toolbar.  thats ok, I fixed it with swfObject.  It has not relation to the problem I'm experiencing in this question.

thanks

I dont see any issue...

with toolbar, http://www.trendfuel.com/
without toolbar, http://www.trendfuel.com/index_no_wibiya.html

no error, no issue, working the same way...

what was the issue again?

HainKurt,

Open the page (www.trendfuel.com) start the video.  Then close it while it is playing.  For me the music doesn't stop.  Open the video again (without refreshing the page), then while it's playing try to scroll down.  If it happens to you, then you may see the video acting very odd in the container window.  I'm using IE8, Safari, and Chrome.  Same results.

Do you get a error at the bottom left of the browser in IE8 when you play the video and scroll the page?

Thanks for taking a good look at this, I appreciate that you're attention.

I just check the two pages again and no error.  I close the browser and tried one more time now the error is there... really wierd but doesn't seem to be limited to my machine, tried on others in two countries, same result.

this function is called

function __flash__addCallback(instance, name) {
  instance[name] = function () {
    return eval(instance.CallFunction("<invoke name=\""+name+"\" returntype=\"javascript\">" + __flash__argumentsToXML(arguments,0) + "</invoke>"));
  }
}

with instance is not set, it is null, and name=api_loadVideo

anyway... try to change the order of scripts... first load web toolbar then vide... maybe it is a timing issue...

HelpNearMeAuthor Commented:
no difference, I returned it to the normal position after testing but I had the same results.

Is there some tool I can use to debug this live in the browser or in an app?

Thanks again

HNM

PS wibiya has a few settings for these kinds of issues and I have tried with no difference either.

in IE8, press F12
in FF press F12 to open firebug

and start debugging js

I think I pushed a wrong button.. I was trying to give 500 points to HainKurt and an 'A' score for everything.  And not add it to the knowledge base as it contains my URLs.  Please correct this.

I'm awarding you the points and I'll open a new question about debugging the script.

Also I used new SWFObject

      is released under the MIT License <http://www.opensource.org/licenses/mit-license.php
*/

That is awsome.  I was using swfObject 2.2 for the other flash in the site but maybe video light box had its own older version.

Works great as you suggested with your toolbar.. but with my tool bar it still barfs..  I'll play with the tool bar settings in wibiya to sort that bit out.

So how can I get 500 more points to you.. I don't mind at all just need to know how to do it ;)

0

HainKurtSr. System AnalystCommented:
probably you cannot fix if you use older versions... thats why they have new versions :) old versions may not be ompatible with new versions, the error comes from core swf libraries... for another 500 point, I can get it some other time from another question...

Please delete this question.  I have choosen not to add it to the knowledge base because it contains my URL.  Now I see it is indexed by google.

I didn't realize that it would show up in google like this and it contains private info.  Thanks for your cooperation.

Thank you
