XenDesktop 5 - Power State shown as Unknown in Desktop Studio
Hello,

I have a small VDI deployment using Citrix XenDesktop 5 and Windows 7.  One of my machines shows all of the correct details in the Citrix Desktop Studio, and reports the power state as “On”.  The other 4 show the Power State as “Unknown”.  All 5 machines are clones of a single image, so I am not sure where to start troubleshooting this.

Thanks,

WEGIS

Is the Agent running correctly in the 5 machines? Seems like a communication issue between VDI clients and XenDesktop?

can the machines ping the XenDesktop server?

Users are connecting to the other 4 virtual desktops, so I assume that the agent is running OK.

The machines can ping the DDC.  I have turned off the firewall on it.

Check the Windows Event Logs on the desktops and DDC.  Hopefully some error or warning is being noted.

Virtualization is the act of creating a virtual (rather than actual) version of something, including (but not limited to) a virtual computer hardware platform, operating system (OS), storage device, or computer network resources. Virtualization is usually the creation of a system that executes separate from the underlying hardware resources, or the creation of an entire desktop for systems located elsewhere, similar to thin clients.
