When I try to create a new software package in SCE 2010, I receive the following error:

Message:

System.InvalidOperationException: Failed to sign package; error was: 2148081670
   at Microsoft.UpdateServices.Internal.BaseApi.Publisher.SignPackageCab()
   at Microsoft.UpdateServices.Internal.BaseApi.Publisher.PublishPackage(String sourcePath, String additionalSourcePath, String packageDirectoryName)
   at Microsoft.UpdateServices.Internal.BaseApi.Publisher.PublishPackage(String sourcePath, String packageDirectoryName)

The error message is actually 80092006 which means that no provider was specified. Now this might be one of several cases, which you need to look at. But this link might help :-

If not google on the error code 8092006.

Sorry BigRat, that didnt match my problem.

I did figure out how to fix it about 10 minutes ago.

I had to remove the certificate from the WSUS Certificate store and then run the following command as a user with domain admin rights:

SCECertPolicyConfiguUtil.exe /PolicyType domain /ManagementGroup Server_MG /SCEServer Server.Domain /AEMFileShare \\Server\Errordata /ConfigureRemoteControl true

I didnt receive any viable solutions through experts-exchange but was able to figure out how to solve it on my own.
