Webservice SoapException when targeting Framework 4

I'm trying to convert our application from framework 2 to framework 4 using VS2010 and am encountering the following error at the very first call to get data via a webservice call:

A first chance exception of type 'System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException' occurred in System.Web.Services.dll
System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was unable to read request. ---> There is an error in XML document (1, 1632). ---> Column requires a valid DataType.
at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.ReadResponse(SoapClientMessage message, WebResponse response, Stream responseStream, Boolean asyncCall)
at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.Invoke(String methodName, Object[] parameters) ...

Code worked fine in framework 2.  I profiled the database and the call never makes it there.  Any ideas on how to debug this error?

You typically don't have to be concerned with "first chance" exceptions as they are exceptions being handled gracefully by the runtime during debugging. See this blog entry for a description of first chance exceptions.

Are you saying it doesn't work at all (disregarding the first chance exception)?

If I ignore the exception, the returned value of the webservice call (dataset) is Nothing.

The problem was resolved by targeting our webservice to Framework 4.  We use datatables extensively in the webservice to pass in parameters and I believe it was the differences in the datatable structures between f/w 2 and f/w 4 which caused the issue.
